Yesterday At The Buenos Aires VCWS 2026 A Founder Said That My Project Was A Delusion.
And It Was One Of The Best Things I’ve Been Told In A Long Time
I’ll tell you how it happened in Venture Capital World Summit ©
We were in the middle of the founders’ round.
A debate ensued, and the conversation escalated.
A lady got up and began to say:
“We have to get more creative.
Get down to earth, stop thinking about investors.
We have to see how to do things for free and lower costs.
In Argentina there is nothing to eat.”
Another stood up to answer him:
“But everything is moved by money.
Without capital you don’t build anything.”
And a third said:
“Sometimes you have to be a little delirious.
To see impossible things. And make them a reality.”
He looked at me and added:
“Like what he’s doing.
Wanting to unite men and women towards a greater purpose,
who want to build a family.
To this day that is almost a delusion. But altruistic.”
There was a short silence.
And immediately Renzo Grecco the joke that ended up closing the energy was thrown out:
“Sure, he’s de-lyrando.”
(From Lyra. Like delirium.)
We all laugh hahaha
But, I left there thinking about it all day.
Is it really a delusion?
In a world where dating apps exist
so that you never find a partner.
Where getting divorced seems simpler than getting engaged.
Where the word “family” begins to sound old.
Where men and women are more at odds than ever.
Yes.
In 2026 wanting that is almost a delusion.
But there are delusions that are not a fantasy.
Otherwise, they are the only way out that we have left.
Large projects are not born from logic.
They are born from the delirium that someone dares to sustain over time.
If everything that makes sense already exists,
What is worth building is outside of common sense.
Lyra is that.
An AI-powered friend whose only goal is
find the love of your life.
One person at a time.
With more than 90% compatibility.
So that two people can really meet.
And if you want, build something bigger together.
Delirium? Yes, it can be.
But the only thing I can thank is God for making me a de-lyrant.
Thanks to Elio Assuncao for setting up the Venture Capital World Summit © in Buenos Aires.
To every founder I met yesterday: see you in the next one. A pleasure to have connected with you.
